MILLBURY - Road workers made a frightening find on Wednesday off Interstate 280 in Lake Township.
Two tombstones were found partially submerged in a creek, near where some construction was going on.
Lake Township Cemetery Sexton Gary Schulte said the tombstones were brought to the cemetery, but there was no record of them there.
He said he believes they are from Michigan and that township police were following up.
Police Chief Mark Hummer could not be reached on Friday.
Schulte said he doubted there would be any value in a stolen tombstone.
"You'd have to sandblast the existing name off if you wanted to use it," he said.
These tombstones measured about 2 feet by 1 foot, Schulte said.
