A Dayton man pleaded to an amended count of aggravated assault in a Wood County rape case
Tuesday.Damarcus Buress, 24, made the plea in the courtroom of Wood County Court of Common Pleas Judge
Robert Pollex.Aggravated assault is a fourth-degree felony.Buress was originally indicted on one count
of rape after allegedly engaging in sexual conduct with a then-17-year-old female on Oct. 4 and,
according to the indictment, compelling her to submit by force or threat of force.Buress’ bond was
modified to own recognizance on the condition that he have no contact with the victim or her family, and
that he reside at a listed residence in Dayton.Buress is to be sentenced Feb. 25 at 11:30 a.m. A
pre-sentence investigation was ordered.
