Crash closes southbound I-75

ROSSFORD – The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury
crash on Interstate 75 southbound occurring at mile post 197 on Wednesday night.
The patrol reports that at 10:30 p.m. a semi tractor-trailer driven by Butoyi Francois, Grand Rapids,
Michigan, became disabled southbound, partially in the right lane. Francois had set out emergency orange
triangles and had emergency flashers activated.
A 2013 Kia Rio driven by Christian Tolles, Toledo, also southbound in the right lane, struck Francois’
vehicle in the rear.
Both vehicles came to rest partially in the right lane.
Tolles was seriously injured in the crash and was taken by air ambulance to the University of Toledo
Medical Center. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Francois was not hurt.
It is not yet known if alcohol played a role in the crash, and no charges have been filed.
The interstate was shut down for approximately two hours following in the crash.
The matter remains under investigation.
