WAYNE - A village teen was hospitalized at the University of Toledo Medical Center following a crash Thursday on Wayne Road. The Wood County Sheriff's Office said that at 7:37 a.m. Chelsi Bodi, 18, was northbound in the 9000 block of Wayne Road, between Graham Road and Maple Street, when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel while traveling at 55 miles per hour and drove off the right side of the road. Bodi then struck a cement bridge guardrail, and the vehicle then spun 180 degrees and traveled left of center into the southbound lane of Wayne Road. The vehicle also struck a road sign. A report on the incident indicated that she was returning home from her night-shift job. Bradner EMS and Wayne Fire responded to the scene, and Bodi was taken to the Wayne Fire Department where she was then taken by Life Flight to the UTMC Trauma Center, Toledo, with incapacitating injuries. She was listed in good condition this morning. |
