Wood County Recorder Julie Baumgardner has released a report of transactions for her office for the second quarter, April 1 through June 30. During the second quarter, 1,190 deeds were recorded compared with 1,131 deeds recorded for the same quarter last year. There were 1,452 mortgages, with a valuation of $1,006,309,846 were recorded compared with 1,057 mortgages, with a valuation of $2,093,897,492, for the same quarter last year. Numerous other documents were recorded for a total of 5,423 documents recorded for this quarter compared to 4,365 documents recorded for the same quarter last year. A total of $297,882 was paid to the county this quarter by the recorder's office, compared to $228,813 for the same quarter last year. Out of that amount, $129,463 was paid directly into the county general fund, compared with $99,350 for the same quarter last year. The recorder's office also paid $147,352 into the housing trust fund, less one percent back to the county general fund by the state for the timely distribution of the money to the fund. This compares with $112,843 paid to the housing trust fund for the same quarter last year. The remaining balance of $21,068 was paid into the recorder's equipment fund for this quarter, compared with $16,620 for the same quarter last year. |
