The Wood County Police Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at noon on the front steps of the Wood
County Court House.
The police memorial pays tribute to the officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty over the
years here in Wood County. There has been a total of 12 officers who have lost their lives in the line
of duty dating back to 1896. This year, we will be paying tribute to the two North Baltimore officers.
Back in 1896, Patrolman Jesse Baker was killed in the line of duty, and in 1932, Marshall Jay Davis, was
shot and killed while on duty.
This service is sponsored by the Wood County Fraternal Order of Police and the Wood County Commissioners.

Officers from each of the various police departments will be participating. In case of rain, this service
will be held in the Atrium of the Court House.
