Story Slam at Way Library
PERRYSBURG – On Friday at 7 p.m., Way Public Library and PRIZM Creative Community will host a Story Slam
in the Main Level Caf?©.
A story slam is an opportunity for people to tell true stories related to a certain theme. The theme of
Way’s first Story Slam is "On the Road."
This program is free and open to adults.
Meatloaf Friday at BG VFW
Bowling Green VFW Post1148, 719 S. Main St., will hold a meatloaf dinner on Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Both dine-in or carry-out available.
United Way on Kiwanis agenda
Kate Sommerfield, the director of the United Way for Wood County, will be the guest speaker at the
Bowling Green Kiwanis Club meeting at noon March 6 at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Rotary to hear library update
Bowling Green Roatry will hear and update on Wood County District Public Library March 6 at Bowling Green
Country Club. The group meets at 11:40 a.m.
Luckey Legion hosts euchre
LUCKEY – Luckey American Legion will host a euchre tournament Saturday, 335 Park Drive.
Food and registration start at 6 p.m. followed by the tournament at 7. The fee is $5 and the event is for
individual players 18 and older.
This is a BYOB event but conessions and soft drinks will be available to purchase.
Proceeds help support the programs of the legion and auxiliary and upkeep on the post home.
Shamrock 5K Run/Walk Sat.
Bowling Green State University’s Kappa Delta sorority will hold their second annual Shamrock 5K Run/Walk
Saturday at the Perry Field House.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., with the race starting at 9:30. Registration is $15 for BGSU students,
and $25 for non-students.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Prevent Child Abuse America. Eighty percent of the proceeds
remain local to benefit the Family Child Abuse Prevention Center.

Ham radio exams offered Sat.
Testing for technician, general and amateur extra ham class ham radio licenses will be held Saturday at
1:30 p.m. in the Wood County Justice Center Sheriff’s Training room.
Volunteers from the Wood County Amateur Radio Club will give the tests. The cost is $15.
Candidates will need to present photo identification. Calculators can be used but must be cleared prior
to testing.

Shrove Tuesday event in BG
A Shrove Tuesday pancake supper will be held Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bowling Green First
Christian Church, 875 Haskins Road.
A free will offering will be accepted for buckwheat or buttermilk pancakes, assorted meats, applesause
and beverage.

OAK HARBOR – Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge will hold an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at

Model Train Show in Fremont
The Norwalk & Western RR will host a Model Train Show Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
Sandusky County Fairgrounds, 901 Rawson Avenue, Fremont..
The show will feature model trains of all scales and a wide variety of model railroading supplies for
sale. There will be a large selection of pre-built HO scale buildings at this show as well as a large
collection of DCC and DC locomotives.
The club will be operating its two traveling 4′ x 8′ layouts. A new addition to this show will be a
traveling HO Scale layout sponsored by the Elmore Historical Railroad Association. Trains will be
running and members will be on hand to provide advice and answer questions on any model railroading
topic. Admission is $4 each for ages 10 and over.
Fostoria Kiwanis Club
hosts annual Pancake Day
The annual Fostoria Kiwanis Club Pancake Day fundraiser will be Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the St.
Wendelin Parish Life Center, 323 N. Wood St., Fostoria.
The eventis the club’s largest fundraiser, and includes all the pancakes you care to eat as well as
sausages, coffee and orange juice.
Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for Golden Buckeye members, $3 for children five to 11 years old and free
for children under four.
NA meets in Bowling Green
The Miracle Group of Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. at 126 S. Church St. in
Bowling Green First Presbyterian Church. Anyone may attend this meeting, which is not affiliated with
any other organization.
NA is a non-profit fellowship of recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay
"clean." NA is non-professional and self-supporting with no fees or dues. Volunteers staff a
