Grand Rapids holiday event
GRAND RAPIDS - The Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and fire department are sponsoring a "Light up the Holiday Night" Saturday.
Activities run from 5 to 9 p.m.
A lighted parade begins at 6 and Santa Claus will be in residence at the fire station from 7 to 9.
There will be free make it take it crafts from 5 to 9.
Karaoke, festive entertainment, bonfires for relaxing and making s'more are planned.
An  Ugly Christmas Sweater contest is planned at 7, followed by a sky lantern launch at 8:30.

Holiday boutique Saturday
Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green will host a holiday boutique Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m,
Among the artists and artisans participating will be: Lynn Helm, Becky Schooner, Barbara O'Brien, Katherine Elizabeth, Vickie Knauerhase, Brenda Schick, Sanday Wicks, Penny Evans-Myers, Kathe Merritt, Marge Meserve and Real Ink-Wood Lane.
Authors signing books and videos will be Dr. Nathan Crook, Archie J. Border, Nick Haskins, Megan O. Koesters and J. David Miles.

Volunteers needed for Rudolph Run in Rossford on Saturday
ROSSFORD - The Rossford Community Recreation Center is seeking volunteers for its Sixth Annual Rossford Rudolph's Run 5K and Walk on Saturday.
The event starts at 8:30 a.m.

Red Cross blood drives set
Red Cross blood drives are scheduled in Wood County:
• Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Christ's Church In Bowling Green, for appointments call Connie at 419-693-3190, 14455 Campbell Hill Road.
• Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Trinity Grace Brethren Church, appointments only, 4035 Williston Road, Northwood.
• Dec. 20, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,WNWO Holiday Blood Drive at Hilton Garden Inn. Donate and receive a free poinsettia and  food from area restaurants, 6165 Levis Commons, Perrysburg.

Wayne food bank Dec. 19
WAYNE - The monthly food bank day is Dec. 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Wayne Fire Hall.
The food bank is intended for residents of Zip Code 43466.

Pancakes with Santa is Saturday in Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS - There will be an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with Santa Claus from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at New Life Community Wesleyan Church, located at the corner of Woodburn Avenue and Second Street in Grand Rapids. The cost for the breakfast is any donation.

Fish Friday at Bradner
BRADNER - An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be held Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. by the Bradner American Legion Riders, Post 338, 203 W. Crocker St. The meal includes choice of baked potato or fries, cole slaw, roll and beverage. Carryouts at 419 288-3634.

Bingo Saturday at Dunbridge
DUNBRIDGE - The monthly Bingo session at Dunbridge Fire Hall is Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.
The jackpot game is at 9 p.m. Refreshments available.

Contra dance at Rossford
ROSSFORD - The second Saturday Contra Dance will be Saturday at the Rossford United Methodist Church, 270 Dixie Hwy.
The dance is from 7 to 10:30 p.m., which instruction from 7 to 7:30.
Partners are not necessary, and beginners and families are welcome. The cost if $7 for adults and $5 for students ages 12 through graduate school.

Rotary to hear from BGSU AD
Chris Kingston, Bowling Green State University's athletics director, will speak at the Dec. 19 meeting of the Bowling Green Rotary Club at 11:40 a.m. in Bowling Green Country Club.

Kiwanis Karolers entertain
The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will celebrate the season in song as choir director Deb Shaffer leads the Kiwanis Karolers at noon on Dec. 19 at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
