Tontogany tree lighting Sat.Tontogany’s annual holiday Tree Lighting ceremony will take place on
Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall, 18545 Main Street.The honored guest who will light the tree this
year is Joyce Asmus.Cookies and hot chocolate will be served in the Village Hall immediately following the
ceremony.If you wish, please bring an item of your choice to donate to the Otsego Food Pantry.Elmwood choir
concert SundayThe Elmwood Community Choir will present its 17th annual Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Sunday in
the Elmwood Community Center auditorium.This year the ensemble will be presenting the cantata,
"Appalachian Winter" by Joseph Martin. The 72-voicechoir and seven-member instrumental consort
will be under the direction of Dean Bell and Zackery Deininger. Dale David will narrate the performance.The
event is free and open to the public.A freewill offering will be taken in support of the North Baltimore
Area Cooperative Ministries which sponsors the event.Two events at Bradner LegionBRADNER – Bradner American

Enterprise, Bowling Green.Food for Fines at PerrysburgPERRYSBURG – Way Library will hold its annual
"Food for Fines" the first week of December to benefit the Perrysburg Christians United food
pantry. Perrysburg Christians United, a consortium of Perrysburg churches which serves the needs of area
individuals and families, manages a very active food bank and accepts donations of food and money
year-round.Way Library will forgive $1 in billed overdue fines for each can of food donated. In addition,
fines will be waived for any overdue item which is returned along with a canned food item. This offer does
not apply to fees for lost or damaged materials or for the lost processing fee. Food items must be presented
at the Circulation Desk in order to receive the fine reduction. Only non-perishable items in non-glass,
store-sealed packaging will be accepted. The library cannot accept damaged, expired, rusty or labelless
items.Those without a fine who wish to participate are welcome to bring in their donations, also.Spa
launches food collectionROSSFORD – NRGIE Salon and Spa kicked off a holiday food drive Sunday.The goal is to
reach 1,000 meals for the Toledo Food Bank. When the goal is reached, Mayor Neil MacKinnon has agreed to
work with the beauty crew for a day and assist in receptionist duties.Donations are accepted through Dec.
24. For every $10 or 10 items donated, your name will be entered into a drawing for one free service per
month for a year, either haircuts, manicures or eyebrow waxing.Fort Meigs open house Dec. 8PERRYSBURG –
Looking for a fun holiday outing with the family? Experience shopping, food, music and more at the Fort
Meigs Holiday Open House Dec. 8 from 1 to 4 p.m.Re-enactors portraying soldiers and civilians from the War
of 1812-era will provide musket demonstrations and discuss camp life during the winter.Kids can try their
hands at several activities and help decorate cookies. New this year is making soldier snowman ornaments.
Father Christmas just might make an appearance.Don’t forget to browse the museum store for unique gifts
while you listen to the sounds of holiday music by the Back Porch Dulcimers. There will be several local
artisans with unique items for sale.Admission is $1 for adults and youth. Ohio Historical Society Members
and children five and under are free.Archaeology meeting SundayDr. Kenneth Mohney will present a program on
the East Steubenville Site, a Late Archaic site in the panhandle of West Virginia at Sunday’s meeting of the
Blanchard River Archaeology Club.The subject of his dissertation, this work is notable for obtaining dates
of 4,000 years old for the lanceolate points found there. Previously man people assumed they were Late
Paleo-Indian, or closer to 10,000 years.Identical points are found all over Ohio and into Southern Ontario.
The artifact profile for the meeting will be lanceolate points of any kind. Those who attend can bring
examples for comparison.The group meets in the Endly Room of Alumni Memorial Union at the University of
Findlay.
