Fifth Friday Feast at BG Peace Lutheran
Peace Lutheran Church, 1021 W. Wooster, Bowling Green, will its "Fifth Friday Feast at Peace,"
from 5 to 7 p.m.
Menu includes potato soup, chili, crusty bread, fruits and desserts. Dinner music will be provided by the
Peace Band.

Pork steak Friday at VFW in BG
A pork steak and twice-baked potato dinner will be held Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at VFW Post 1148, 719
S. Main St.
Dine-in or carryout.
Baked steak Sunday at Bradner Legion
BRADNER – The Bradner American Legion will serve a baked steak lunch Sunday at the post home.
The cost is $7.

Frostbite run registration open
Bowling Green Parks and Recreation will host the Sixth Annual Frostbite One Mile Fun Run sponsored by
Meijer, as a part of Winterfest.
The run will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 15 around City Park.
Awards will be given out to overall male/female adult and youth categories and all preregistered
participants will receive a long sleeve t-shirt.
The cost is $15 for those registered by Feb. 6, or $25 (with shirt available), $12 (no shirt).

Archeaology club to make awards
FINDLAY – Blanchard River Archaeology Club will give awards for artifacts found on the surface during
2013 at its Sunday meeting.
The group meets from 2 to 4:40 p.m. in the Endly Room of the Alumni Memorial Union at the University of
Findlay.
The public is invited to submit entries in the competition and bring the items to be identified.
There will be displays of locally found prehistoric artifacts. For information contact Rick Carles,

Travel program at Perrysburg’s Way Library
PERRYSBURG – Monday at 7 p.m., join Bill Hilt and Nancy Patterson at Way Library as they describe their
experiences traveling in Morocco.
The presentation will focus on half a dozen cities as well as provide a discussion of culture and
education in the country.
Hilt is the president of the World Affairs Council of Northwest Ohio and teaches social studies at
Perrysburg Junior High.
Patterson is an associate professor in the School of Teaching and Learning at Bowling Green State
University and was on a Fulbright Grant to Morocco.
This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
BG Kiwanis to honor BG teacher
Conneaut Elementary school teacher Danielle Carrasquillo will receive an educator award from the Bowling
Green Kiwanis Club at the weekly Kiwanis luncheon at noon on Thursday, February 6, at Stone Ridge Golf
Club.
BG Kiwanis to hear juvenile court judge
"The Youth in Wood County and our Juvenile Court System" will be Judge Dave Woessner’s program
Feb. 6 for the Bowling Green Rotary Club.
The group meets at 11:40 a.m. at Bowling Green Country Club.
Civil War roundtable meets Feb. 13
The next meeting of the Greater Toledo Civil War Roundtable will be Feb. 13, at the Navarre Park Shelter
House, and will start at 7:15 p.m..
The program will be the movie, "The Light of Freedom," which tells the story of the Underground
Railroad in Ohio, and the 14th Ohio Infantry, Northwest Ohio’s first regiment raised for the war.
GTCWRT meetings are free to all, and the public is invited to attend.
Give Kids a Smile slated Feb. 7
For the 11th year members of the Toledo Dental Society will join in the Give Kids a Smile Feb. 7 program
at three area sites.
Dentists and hygienists will provide care for children ages 1-18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at:
• Owens Community College Dental Hygiene Clinic, second floor of the Health Technology Hall, 30335 Oregon
