BG VFW hosts meals
VFW Post 1148 will hold a ham loaf dinner Friday evening.
On the menu will be ham loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and roll.
The cost is $7, and the event is open to the public to both dine-in and carry out.
The post will hold a public meal Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
On the menu will be BLT sandwiches and vegetable soup. The cost is $5, and the event includes both dine-in and carry out.
The VFW is located at 179 S. Main St.

Eagles offer fish fry
The Bowling Green Eagles will hold a fish fry Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
The cost is $8 for the all-you-can-eat meal.
The public is welcome.
Legion posts holds fish fry
GRAND RAPIDS - Alva N. Sidle Post 232 American Legion will host a fish fry on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
The all-you-can-eat meal is $10.
The post is located at 12580 S. River Road.
Weston Fire/EMS to host open house
WESTON - The Weston Fire Department and EMS will hold a Touch-A-Truck open house on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Safety Services Building, 20761 Taylor St.
The station is open for children, their families and community members to become acquainted with fire and EMS personnel, the fire trucks, ambulances and equipment.
A mock tear apart of a vehicle using the Jaws of Life is planned, as are free blood pressure checks and CPR demonstrations.
St, Vincent Mercy Medical Center's Life Flight helicopter will be on hand.
Events include a children's coloring contest, face painting and door prizes.
Contra dance delayed
ROSSFORD - For September only, the second Saturday contra dance will be held on the third Saturday, Sept. 21.
It will run from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Rossford United Methodist Church.
Partners are not necessary, and both beginners and families are welcome.
Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students age 12 to college.

Wayne distributes government food
WAYNE - The Wayne Food Pantry will be distributing food Sept. 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the fire hall.
The giveaway is for residents in the 43466 zip code who meet eligibility requirements.
Paper Crafting workshop at Pemberville Library
PEMBERVILLE - The Pemberville Library will host a Fall Paper Crafting workshop on Sept. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Instructor Aimee Frey will lead the class in making greeting cards, envelopes, keepsake boxes, decorations and more.
The workshop is open to anyone ages 16 and older. There is a $5 refundable fee for registration, and will be refunded to the participant at the class.
All materials will be provided.
The class is limited to the first 10 people who register.
