Shepherd's pie at VFW Friday
VFW 1148, 719 S Main St., will have a shepherd's pie dinner including apple crisp on Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Bag day Fri. at N.B. thrift store
NORTH BALTIMORE - Friday is bag day for clothes only at the St. Vincent dePaul Thrift Store, 115 W. State St.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

AMVETS garage sale Saturday
AMVETS Auxiliary will hold a garage sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1045 N. Main St., BG.
Proceeds will be used to assist veterans and their families.

Pork chops Sunday at Bradner
BRADNER - A pork chop dinner will be offered Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bradner American Legion Post.
The cost is $8 and proceeds will benefit Lifeflight of Northwest Ohio.

Pulled pork at Weston Sunday
WESTON - American Legion Post 409 on Main Street will host a barbecued pulled pork dinner Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The cost is $8.

Festival Sat. in Stony Ridge
STONY RIDGE - The St. John's Festival, 5520 Fremont Pike  will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be live music, a flea market, crafts and games. A chicken dinner will be sold, for eat-in or carryout customers.

Courtyard Cafe Wednesday
Residents and associates of Sterling House of Bowling Green will host another Courtyard Café, a fundraiser for children's activities.
All who attend will be served a meal featuring a hamburger or bratwurst, potato salad, fresh fruit, brownie and a drink for suggested donation of $7.
All proceeds will benefit the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club's Black Swamp Youth Arts tent. The event is open to the public, and indoor and outdoor seating as well as carry-out will be available.
The event is Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 121 N. Wintergarden Road.

Health Center talk for Rotary
The guest speaker for the Bowling Green Kiwanis Aug. 1 will be Bill Kidd, the vice president of support services for Wood County Hospital. He talk about the new Falcon Health Center.
Kiwanis meet at noon at Stone Ridge Golf Club.

Shirt program for Kiwanis
Skyler Rodgers of Nice Short.org will speak at the Aug. 1 meeting of the Bowling Green Rotary Club.
Rotary meets at 11:40 a.m. at Bowling Green Country Club.

Blood drives next week
American Red Cross blood drives scheduled in Wood County:
• Tuesday, 1 to 6 p.m., sponsored by First Christian Church at the Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave., Bowling Green.
• Aug. 2, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wood County Hospital, 950 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green.

Waterville museums open Sat.
The Waterville Historical Society's two house museums, the 1838 Robbins House at 114 S. River Road and the 1834 Sargent House next door will be open from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday and again Aug. 31. The guided one-hour walking tour of the historic district will begin at 10 a.m. at the Robbins House.
Docents will provide information about the Robbins House, decorated to represent a typical pioneer home, and the Sargent House with displays of tools and construction methods used by early settlers, as well as pioneer occupations and Native American artifacts.
Admission to the museums is free but a $1 donation is requested for the illustrated brochure describing the architecture and history of the homes on the walking tour.

ODNR state forest meeting
SWANTON - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will host a Northwest Ohio open house Tuesday to encourage public participation in state forest management plans.
The Maumee State Forest open house is Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Maumee State Forest Headquarters, 3390 County Road D.
