Easter egg hunt Sat. at Luckey
LUCKEY – An Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Basic Park in Luckey, rain or shine.
Well over 500 eggs, stuffed with candy and treats will be in the park. The free event is open to all
children in elementary school or younger. Youngsters will be divided into different areas to hunt based
on age.
The event is sponsored by the Eastwood High School Key Club.
Rudolph egg hunt Saturday
RUDOLPH – Rudolph Concerned Citizens will hold an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at he ball field
behind the Civic Center building on Rudolph Road.
The hunt will be held rain or shine and is for anyone under the age of 13. Children should bring their
own basket or bag.
Fish fry Friday at G. Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS – Alva N. Sidle Post 232, American Legion, will hold an all-you-care-to-eat fish fry Friday
from 5 to 7 p.m.
The post is located at 12580 Ohio 295. Cost is $10.
Perch dinner Fri. at Pemberville
PEMBERVILLE – A Lake Erie perch dinner will be held Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Pemberville American
Legion Hall. Dinner prices range from $9 to $11 depending on the number of pieces of fish.
Homemade pie is available for purchase. Carryouts are available.
Proceeds benefit American Legion programs.
Legion council meets Tuesday
Wood County Council American Legion will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Custar
American Legion Post.
Wood workers meet Tuesday
The Northwest Ohio Wood Workers Guild meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Bowling Green High School Ag Ed/FAA
classroom and shop.
This is a special earlier time due to an outdoor sawmill demonstration by Don Rasmussen.
All are welcome.
K of C plans annual campaign
Knights of Columbus Holy Trinity Council No. 6373 will be seeking contributions for its annual measure up
campaign which benefits persons with developmental disabilities April 24, 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m.
Members will be outside of Panera Bread, Klevers Jewelers and Ben Franklin during those hours. Last
year’s funds went towards Wood Lane schools for improvements to their audiovisual learning classroom.

Zoo update for BG Kiwanis
Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will learn what’s new at the Toledo Zoo in 2014 from herpetologist Keny Bekker
at noon April 24, at Stone Ridge Golf Club. Herpetologists are specialized biologists who provide care
for reptiles and amphibians.
Meal Fri. at Martha’s Kitchen
Martha’s Kitchen offers a free, community dinner every Friday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at First United
Methodist, 1526 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green.
Red Cross blood drives
American Red Cross blood drives are scheduled in Wood County:
• Monday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Owens Community College, 30335 Oregon Road.
• April 25, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Stadium View Apartments, 1700 Juniper Drive, Bowling Green.
• April 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. , The Greater Toledo Islamic Center, 25877 Scheider Road, Perrysburg.
• April 27, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wood County Hospital, 950 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green.
French travel at Way Library
PERRYSBURG – France is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and Normandy is of
particular interest to many Americans. Tour this area free of charge and with no airport hassles with
travel junkie, Judy Pfaffenberger on Wednesday April 23 at 7 p.m. at Way Library.
The tour begins in Le Havre, whose port was the exit point for thousands of immigrants to the U.S. Le
Havre was 90 percent destroyed in WW II but is now a vibrant city. Visit the Alabaster Coste, the quaint
town of Honfleur, and Rouen which is famous for its half-timbered old town, massive cathedral, and Joan
of Arc.
After a short stop at Cherbourg you will visit the historic D-Day beaches to be reminded of the tragedy
and triumph which took place there 70 years ago. The trip ends at sunset at Mont St. Michel.
This program is free and open to the public.
Benefit Saturday at Holland
HOLLAND – A benefit to help with funeral expenses for Brandi Gonyer-Boaston and the care of her children
will be held Saturday starting at 3 p.m. at Holland Gardens Banquet Hall, 6530 Angola Road, Holland.
There will be a live action, silent auction, raffles and a spaghetti dinner.
Henry genealogy meets Monday
The April meeting of the Henry County Genealogical Society will meet Monday, April 21 at 7:00 P.M. at the
Edwin Wood Memorial Library in Deshler. The speaker of the night will be Joanne Allison who will give us
a presentation of her journey discovering her genealogy and how she went about finding her ancestors
which included a trip to Germany where she got to visit her family’s ancestral homeland. The public is
welcome to attend.
