Saturday dinner at Pemberville
PEMBERVILLE – A public dinner featuring ham loaf or meat loaf will be offered Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30
p.m. at Pemberville United Methodist Church, 205 Perry St.
Dinner includes a baked potato, green beans, salad, rolls, homemade dessert and beverage for an $9

The third in a series of Inspirational Educator Awards will be presented to Cynthia Maas, the Bowling
Green High School family and consumer science teacher, by the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club at noon Feb.

Deadline set for CVB grants
The BG Convention and Visitors Bureau is offering grants to anyone creating an event or convention
bringing visitors to Bowling Green.
The grant application and criteria is available on the CVB website at www.visitbgohio.org.

Knitting offered at Way Library
PERRYSBURG – Veteran knitters Arlene Sparks and Judy Cooper will be the instructors for a three-session
knitting class at Way Library.
Participants will learn a variety of basic knitting stitches and how to read a pattern while completing a
beginner’s level project. The Knitting Basics class is for three consecutive Tuesdays on Feb. 18, 25 and
March 4 from 9:15-10:45 a.m. There is a $10 supply fee due at the time of registration. This class is
for new knitters and those who need a refresher. Registration is required by Sunday at the library’s
Information Desk.
Online security program Wed.
PERRYSBURG – Wednesday at 6 p.m. Way Library will offer a program on online security.
The talk will cover simple measures which can be taken to help protect individuals from identity theft
and computers from spyware and viruses. Topics to be covered include phishing, password management
strategies, common virus vectors, credit monitoring, simple computer troubleshooting, and much more.
Registration is not required.
Tree seedling sale through 3/26
The tree seedling sale coordinated by the Wood Soil and Water Conservation District offers conifers and
hardwoods and a mixed conifer, hardwood and wildlife packet..
Prices range from $8- 11 per packet of 10.

Cheer for Cure Sat. at Genoa
The 10th Annual Cheer For A Cure® Competition is Saturday at Genoa Area High School, with doors opening
at 7 a.m. and competition starting at 8. Admission is $5. This competition is in memory of the Genoa
Cheerleading coach, Stella Bertz, who was succumbed to cancer in February 2003.
Approximately 95 cheer squads will compete. Area schools include Genoa, Northwood, Lake, Maumee,
Springfield, Oak Harbor, Otsego, Bowling Green, and Bellevue.
The afternoon schedule consists of ALL-STAR teams.
Weekend cat show at Maumee
MAUMEE – The International Cat Association Cat Show is Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
Lucas County Recreation Center, 2901 Key St.
This is the largest cat show and rescue adoption event in Toledo. Cats from all over the world will
compete in six separate divisions for titles, regional, and international awards.
Admission is $4 per person. Parking is free
