Habitat for Humanity is joining forces with Cheers to Art! to help fundraise for the next new home construction in Wood County. Cheers to Art! is a canvas painting studio that offers "art as entertainment."
Studio participants receive step-by-step painting instruction, a 16x20 pre-stretched canvas and all painting materials.
Habitat and Cheers to Art! are inviting the community to join us for an evening of painting, music and good cheer on Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Woodland Mall, 1234 N. Main St., Bowling Green (park near mall main entrance). Registration cost is $40 per person which includes light appetizers, instruction and all painting materials. Register online at cheerstoart.com. A cash bar will be available.
Proceeds from the event will support Habitat's Wood County affiliate, specifically $20 from each participant will go directly to the building fund.
The Cheers to Art! event will kick-off the fundraising season for Habitat for Humanity of Wood County. Fundraising efforts will support the goal of building a new home for a family of three. Construction will start as soon as the cost to build is met by securing both monetary donations and in-kind donations
Cheers to Art! is a Cincinnati-based canvas painting studio with Wood County roots. The owners, Jill and Michael Carroll, are both originally from Bowling Green and will host this painting party. The couple grew up in Bowling Green. Jill Flockencier Carroll is the daughter of Jane Gerkens of Bowling Green and Michael Carroll is the son of Patricia Koehler of Bowling Green. Both graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1977. They currently reside in Cincinnati.
In 2009 they decided to create a business based on their passion for the arts, and opened Cheers to Art! in 2010.
At Cheers to Art! events, art is entertainment. Absolutely no experience is necessary to have a great time. Never painted before? No worries. It's not a class, it's a party, and everyone's invited. At the end of the evening, you'll go home with a one-of-a-kind canvas painting ready to hang on your wall or give as a gift!
