Cause of death investigated for man who fell into Fostoria reservoir

FOSTORIA – The Hancock County Coroner’s Office is working to determine the cause of death of a man pulled
from a reservoir in the city Wednesday evening.
The body of Michael A. Enright, 21, Fostoria, was recovered at approximately 7:15 p.m. He was pronounced
dead at the scene.
According to Fostoria Police, at approximately 6:15 p.m. dispatchers received a 911 transfer from the
Wood County Sheriff’s dispatch indicating someone had fallen into the water at Fostoria Reservoir No. 2.

Fostoria Police and Fire divisions were dispatched to the scene and requested assistance from Tiffin Fire
& Rescue, the Seneca County Water Rescue team, the Hancock County Dive Team, and the Toledo Fire
& Rescue dive unit.
The Hancock and Toledo teams were canceled prior to arrival.
According to witnesses, Enright was seen fishing at the reservoir and fell into the water from the shore.
Another witness attempted to go into the water but was unsuccessful in locating Enright.
Family members were on-scene and were interviewed as well.
Enright’s body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for further examination. The Hancock County
Coroner’s Office is investigating the cause of death.
