Two men who pleaded to charges stemming from a $2 million cocaine and heroin bust were sentenced in Wood
County Court of Common Pleas Thursday.
Bobby Robinson II, 24, Carson, California, and Christopher Bustamante, 31, Montebello, California,
appeared in the courtroom of Judge Alan Mayberry.
They had pleaded to amended felony charges of trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in heroin as part of
plea agreements. Robinson’s charges were fourth-degree felonies, while Bustamante’s were second-degree
felonies.
Robinson received a sentence of nine months in prison; it was noted, however, he had already served
approximately nine months in the Wood County jail, and could be released with time served pending a full
calculation of his actual stay at the facility.
Bustamante was sentenced to four years and a $7,500 fine on each count. The sentences are to be served
concurrently for an aggregate of four years.
Both were arrested in September after the tractor-trailer they were driving was stopped by state troopers
for a marked lanes violation on Interstate 80 eastbound, near Perrysburg.
A drug-sniffing dog revealed 42 pounds of cocaine and two pounds of black tar heroin in the cab of the
vehicle, worth $2,072,000.
Both had originally been charged with felony counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession of drugs,
trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of criminal tools.
