Brown and Brown Inc. announced that Benjamin A. Goff has been named executive vice president and profit center leader for their Perrysburg office.
Goff accepted the new role after serving as vice president of the employee benefits division for the Ohio office since August 2008, when his company, Great Lakes Risk Management Inc., merged with Brown and Brown.
Prior to its acquisition by the national company, the Perrysburg office of Brown and Brown of Ohio was the former Daniel James Insurance Group that had served local and regional customers since 1975. In 1998, the Daniel James Insurance Group was one of the largest acquisitions of the year for Brown and Brown. The Perrysburg office gained new benefits from national resources, while remaining decentralized and retaining independence to manage its operations locally.
With a proven record of building and operating a successful group health and benefits agency, Goff was offered the opportunity to take over management of the entire agency during a recent regional restructuring in management positions.
Goff is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management. He currently serves on Brown and Brown's National Employee Benefits Steering committee and is recognized as a regional expert in the areas of health care reform and employee benefit plan design. He is past president of the Northwest Ohio Better Business Bureau, past state legislative chairman for the Ohio Health Underwriters Associa-tion, and past president for the Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio.
