Assault turns into burglary
An assault incident turned into a burglary on East Wooster Street early this morning.
Bowling Green Police report that at 3:50 a.m. a man said he was "jumped" by a subject unknown to him in the 200 block of East Wooster.
The subject then entered his house, and the resident was unable to get him to leave.
The individual, Nicholas Manciotti, 21, Toledo, was arrested on charges of assault, burglary, and criminal trespass.
Another man reportedly involved in the incident, but who did not enter the residence, Gregory Fockler, 21, Toledo, was arrested for criminal trespass. Fockler was cited this morning prior to the incident for criminal damaging regarding damage to a side mirror of a vehicle in City Lot 1.

Gun shown after road rage incident PDF Print E-mail

Police are investigating an incident in which an unknown subject reportedly pulled a gun on a man on East Wooster Street after a road rage incident.
Bowling Green Police report that at 4:11 p.m. Wednesday, a man was driving southbound on Interstate 75 and got off at the Wooster Street exit when a white BMW reportedly cut him off. The man followed the BMW to Starbucks, 1560 E. Wooster, exited his vehicle, and confronted the driver.
The BMW driver then reportedly pulled a semi-automatic pistol on the man and pointed it at him.
The driver was described as a white male in his late 50s, balding, wearing glasses and a blue jacket.
Units arrived in the area to search for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.

Kevern elected as president of Perrysburg City Council PDF Print E-mail

PERRYSBURG - City council chose a new president and made committee assignments for 2014 on Tuesday.
John Kevern will serve as council president. Also Tuesday, new members Barry Van Hoozen, Rick Rettig and Jim Matuszak were sworn in.
Committee assignments and meeting times are:
• Finance - Tom Mackin, chair; Todd Grayson, Matuszak; meets at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.
• Recreation - Rettig, chair; Mackin, Matuszak; meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.
• Economic Development - Kevern, chair; Rettig, Van Hoozen; meets at 5 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month.
• Planning and Zoning - Tim McCarthy, chair; Kevern, Mackin; meets at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month.

Aspacher to lead BG Council PDF Print E-mail

Third Ward Council Member Michael Aspacher was elected president of Bowling Green City Council Monday night.
Also during its reorganization, First Ward Council Member Daniel Gordon was elected president pro tem.
Democrats hold a 5-2 advantage on council. Aspacher was elected 6-0, while Gordon was elected 4-2. Republicans Theresa Charters-Gavarone and Robert McOmber cast the no votes.
Aspacher replaces John Zanfardino, who was absent, as president. Zanfardino indicated at the final 2013 meeting he would not seek to continue as council president.
Before the meeting BG Municipal Court Judge Mark Reddin swore in Aspacher, Charters-Gavarone, Gordon, McOmber and Sandy Rowland, to the terms they won in the November election.

James F. Carter of Grand Rapids will serve as president of the Wood County Board of Commissioners for 2014, and commissioner Doris I. Herringshaw of Liberty Township will serve as vice president.
The board will continue regular meetings on Tuesday and Thursday mornings with open forum on regular meeting days following regular business, allowing citizens to speak with the board without scheduling a meeting. Town hall meetings are also in the process of being scheduled throughout the county. Times and locations will be announced as they are scheduled.
As president of the board, Carter will serve on boards and commissions including the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) Board of Trustees, Community Corrections Board, Investment Advisory Committee, Financial Report Review Committee, Family and Children First Council, Records Commission and Solid Waste Policy Committee.
