Jan Schaller is a police and 911 dispatcher at Bowling Green State University where she as worked for 8 years. Prior to her time at BGSU, she was a police and 911 dispatcher for the Bowling Green Police Division for 15 years. Schaller is one of the founding charter members of the Rainbow Parent Group which helped create what is now the Rainbow Cooperative Preschool. Both of her daughters, Stephanie and Natalie, attended the preschool. In her spare time, Schaller enjoys reading, trekking down to visit grandchildren in Kentucky and acting. She is looking forward to returning to it for fun, as one of the original cast members of the Black Swamp Players, a group she joined as a teenager.

Book discussion groups will meet during March at the Wood County District Public Library at 251 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
Dates and group titles are:
• Wednesday 10:30 a.m. Read for Inspiration book group - "True Sisters" by Sandra Dallas, in the second floor Reading Lounge.
• Tuesday, March 18, 7 p.m. Searching for Your Immigrant Ancestors, in the library meeting room.
• Thursday, March 20, 10:30 a.m. Coffee Talk book group at the Carter House - "Husband's Secret" by Lianne Moriarity.
• Tuesday, March 27, 10:30 a.m. Just the Facts book group at the Carter House - "Orange is the New Black" by Piper Kerman.

BG business reports tampering with cable lines PDF Print E-mail

Bowling Green Police Division is alerting businesses to be aware of possible tampering with cable, telephone and alarm lines.
On Thursday, a business in the city reported their cable cut in the evening hours.
It is unknown if this incident was testing to see what response occurred or if it was just vandalism.
Police are asking that any suspicious activity or similar problems be reported to them.

Nature Center has $64,000 for renovations
The Building on Nature Campaign of the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department has reached $63,892 in cash and $18,225 in pledges, Bowling Green's Board of Parks and Recreation was told Tuesday night.
The goal is $300,000 to renovate the Rotary Nature Center at the Wintergarden/St. John's Nature Preserve on South Wintergarden Road.
The project will also an outbuilding that will provide a modern restroom.

Roll-over crash on Kellogg Road

TONTOGANY - One man was taken to Wood County Hospital following a Wednesday crash just west of the village.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that at 10:10 p.m. Matthew Steck, Delta, was westbound on Kellogg Road when he indicated he drove over a patch of ice and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over once, and came to rest on all four tires.
Steck reported possible injuries and was taken to the hospital by Northwest 190 EMS.
He was cited for reasonable control.

Washington Twp. zoning meets

TONTOGANY - The Washington Township Zoning Commission will hold a board meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Township Fire Hall in Tontogany.
