Three Hurt in Crash on Liberty Hi PDF Print E-mail

Three people were taken to Wood County Hospital after a Wednesday crash at Bowling Green Road West and Liberty Hi Road.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 8:58 a.m. Norma Miller, Holgate, was eastbound on Bowling Green Road West when a northbound vehicle on Liberty Hi Road, driven by Ashley Arrington-Doyle, Bradner, failed to yield and struck Miller’s vehicle.
Miller was taken to the hospital by Mid-County 120 EMS. Arrington-Doyle and her passenger, Karen McFee, Weston, were transported by Bowling Green Fire/EMS. All sustained non-incapacitating injuries.
Arrington-Doyle was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.

One person was injured after a three-car collision at North Main and West Wooster Streets Tuesday.
Bowling Green Police report that at 7:31 a.m. Joseph Manners, Wayne, was southbound on North Main, approaching West Wooster when he failed to stop for a red light.
The front of Manners' vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Thomas Mathias, Bowling Green, who was turning left onto North Main from West Wooster under a green turn arrow.
This spun Mathias' vehicle around. Manners' vehicle then continued southeast, striking a vehicle driven by Joel Vallejo, Toledo, who was facing northbound on North Main.

Burglary reported in BG
A burglary incident involving the theft of a television was reported on East Court Street late Tuesday.
The incident was reported just after 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of East Court Street.
Police were advised that an unidentified subject had entered the home and stolen a television while the residents were asleep.
The home had reportedly been left unlocked.

Pemberville to sweep streets
PEMBERVILLE - The Village of Pemberville will be sweeping streets on Friday.
All cars should be removed from the streets by 3 a.m. on Friday.

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2014 "I Love BG" award.
The winner will be announced at the Chamber's 2014 Mid-Year Meeting. A personalized painting is designed for the winner by local artist Rebecca Laabs.
The chamber will recognize an individual or organization for their efforts in increasing the visibility of the city, and improving the quality of life for Bowling Green residents. The purpose of the award is to recognize an individual, organization or business for their efforts and the level of need that the nominee has fulfilled, the number of people and the type of benefit gained from the nominee's efforts.
The chamber has presented this award since 1988.
County's CASA/GAL program earns national certification PDF Print E-mail

The Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad litem Program was recently awarded certification by the National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association.
The certification recognizes that Wood County's CASA/GAL program is in compliance with the national group's standards for child advocacy.
"The National CASA quality assurance process is very rigorous, and reflects our commitment to ensure every child we serve has the most powerful volunteer advocate working on their behalf," said Michael Piraino, CEO of the National CASA Association in a press release.
