MILLBURY - Alcohol is believed to be a factor in an early morning crash today that injured two people on Ohio 51 near Bradner Road in Lake Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.
Jason B. Hill, 32, of Bowling Green, was traveling northwest on Ohio 51 in a 2008 Ford Focus at 1:40 a.m. when his vehicle went left of center and struck a southeast-bound 1999 Hyundai Accent driven by Bobbi J. Neitling, 60, of Woodville.
Both vehicles rotated off the south side of the road and Hill's vehicle struck a traffic sign, the patrol said.
Neitling had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Lake Township Fire Department and was taken by Lake Township EMS to Bay Park Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

BG's pool won't open on June 1 PDF Print E-mail

The June 1 opening date for the new Bowling Green pool complex at City Park is not going to happen.
Director of Parks and Recreation Dr. Michelle Grigore told the Board of Parks and Recreation this week the project is at least 1 1/2 weeks behind schedule, due mostly to wet weather.
"We're looking at June 8 or 15. It's all weather dependent," she said Wednesday. "There's still a lot of concrete decking to pour and the rain keeps that from happening."
To open June 1 the pool had to be ready to fill by the middle of May and give the staff a week to be trained on its operation. Those things will still need to be done no matter when the work is complete.

Northwood Police responded to a business in the 200 block of East Andrus Road on the report of a black truck which had been driven onto the property and apparently abandoned after it became stuck in the mud.
According to a report, numerous pieces of scrap metal were found in the bed of the truck. The scrap, valued at $150, was confirmed as having been taken from the 100 block of East Andrus Road; a fence at that location was also cut.
The vehicle was towed and the police were contacted by the suspects, who wanted the truck back.
