The office of Campus Operations at Bowling Green State University reports that electrical power is out in a number of buildings on the west side of campus including: the Administration Building, Family and Consumer Sciences, West Hall, South Hall, Shatzel, Founders, Hanna Hall, University Hall.
The sorority houses near the Union are also affected.
As a result of the power outage the phone system is also down in those buildings. Campus Operations is investigating the cause.
University spokesman David Kielmeyer said: “The outage is the result of a blown transformer on campus. Crews from the City of Bowling Green are working with Campus Operations to restore power. It could take up to four hours to resolve.”
Classes in affected buildings have been canceled.
