BGSU students hurt when equipment topples

Two theater students were injured Wednesday when a scissor lift they were moving in the Wolfe
Center for the Arts on the Bowling Green State University campus fell over.Terra Writz, a junior from Rock
Creek, Ill., and Jeremiah Kowalski, a senior with a Bowling Green address, were moving a lift between the
Eva Marie Saint and Donnell theaters in the center about 4 p.m.Writz sustained a head injury and Kowalski
sustained a leg injury.Both university police and city firefighters responded to the scene, and the two
students were taken to Wood County Hospital.Writz was treated and released and Kowalski was admitted,
university spokesman David Kielmeyer said.Kielmeyer said safety of students is a top priority for the
university."The office of risk management is investigating the incident."No productions are
currently up in either venue.
