While in Detroit for the Little Caesar Pizza Bowl football game on Thursday, some Bowling Green
State University personnel reportedly had items stolen from a van rented for the game.Jason Knavel, BGSU’s
assistant athletic director for athletic communications, said Friday that while some BGSU personnel were
eating lunch at a restaurant in Detroit, the van they were using was broken into. Taken were multiple
backpacks containing such items as laptops, iphones and ipods.The backpacks belonged to BGSU employees and
BGSU students working in the athletic equipment room.All the stolen items were personal property and did not
belong to BGSU, according to Knavel.The theft was reported to law enforcement, and none of the items have
been found, Knavel said.
