Police are investigating an incident in which a man reportedly pulled a gun on an acquaintance in the downtown early this morning.
According to Maj. Tony Hetrick of the Bowling Green Police, the incident was reported around 1:41 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street.
The alleged victim said he and an acquaintance were walking in the area and discussing a dispute when the other man reportedly pulled a gun on him and put it in his face.
The alleged victim then said the man pulled the trigger, but the gun did not go off. The victim then said he grabbed the gun, threw it away and fled the scene.
There were reportedly no witnesses to the incident, and no gun was located in the area.
Hetrick said that there is a suspect in the incident, but no arrest has been made.
Hetrick further said that during the course of the investigation Jeffery August, 24 Bowling Green, was arrested after being found to be in possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Hetrick said that August is not a suspect in the alleged gun incident.
This is the second incident of a subject allegedly pulling a gun in town in just over a week.
On Jan. 15, a driver reportedly pulled a gun on another man in the 1000 block of E. Wooster St., after the man approached his vehicle in an apparent road rage incident.
