Preliminary work has begun on updating the future land use section of Bowling Green’s Master
Plan.Director of Planning Heather Sayler told city council Monday night that the plan was last updated in
1986. The city has contracted with czb LLC of Alexandria, Va., to oversee the update."A small group of
stakeholders have already met and a kickoff is being planned for February. A public hearing will be
announced. We hope to get this wrapped up in May," Sayler said.In its 20-minute session council also:•
Heard praise from Mayor Richard Edwards and offered some favorable words of its own for the effort of the
public works employees on snow removal over the weekend. Director of Public Works Brian Craft said the crews
went on 12-hour shifts starting at 2 a.m. Saturday for the next 36 hours.• Heard Connie Cadwalader of
Ferndale suggest the city consider paving North Grove Street. She said the street is "chock-full of
bumps" from numerous repair projects. Craft said the street will get attention when a sewer project
between Evers and Wooster is completed sometime in 2014.• Gave two readings to the proposed 2014 budget.
Approval is expected at council’s Dec. 30 meeting, set for 7 p.m.
