DUNBRIDGE - A Bowling Green teenager sustained life-threatening injuries during a Friday evening crash on Sugar Ridge Road at Dunbridge Road in Center Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.
Tyrus Antonio Alvarez, 16, of Bowling Green, was eastbound on Dunbridge Road in a 2000 Pontiac Firebird when he reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign at Dunbridge Road and was struck by a southbound 1998 GMC Suburban driven by Renee Wendt, 51, of Dunbridge.
Wendt's vehicle went off the left side of the road and overturned and came to rest on its wheels on the southeast corner of the intersection, the patrol said. Alvarez' vehicle went off the road and came to rest on the southeast corer of the intersection.
Alvarez was taken by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, which had no information on his condition.
Wendt and a passenger in the vehicle, Hailey Wendt, 12, were taken to Wood County Hospital by Mid County 120 where they were treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol and drug use do not appear to be a factor in the crash, the patrol reported.
