|BG says fire permit not received for jugglers|

A permit application to use fire in a Friday night juggling contest was not received by the city, Municipal Administrator John Fawcett said today.
Several performers at the Busker Competition, part of the International Jugglers' Association's annual festival held in Bowling Green last week, were told by police and fire personnel that they could not use open flame during their routines.
The contest required jugglers to collect as much money as possible from audience members during 20-minute segments.
Fawcett said a permit application was passed along to an IJA coordinator but not sent back for review before Friday's performance.
According to a Fire Department report on the incident, Event Coordinator and Bowling Green Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Wendy Stram informed a department personnel member on-scene that they had a permit for the event, but was unable to produce it.
Officials planned to meet today morning to discuss the matter further.
