BG Parks and Rec offers program grants PDF Print E-mail

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Board voted to include up to $1,000 in grant funds in the 2014 budget to provide support for community groups which offer unique leisure services and recreation activities which are beyond the scope of the city's programs.
To qualify, programs should meet the following guidelines:
•    Program must provide an opportunity/experience beyond the scope of the department's programs.
•    Program must be open to all eligible individuals (does not exist to serve an exclusive group of individuals).  no private clubs.
•    Program must not be a business meeting or for-profit in nature.
•     Fundraising by a non-profit, may be permitted in city parks upon prior recommendation by the parks and recreation director and approval by the municipal administrator or his/her designee.
•    Groups over 150 people must follow the large group use policy.
Application forms and detailed criteria are available at the Community Center at 1245 W. Newton Road, Bowling Green, or by calling Rachel Blickensderfer at 419-354-6297.
Completed application must be returned by mail to Parks and Recreation, 1291 Conneaut Ave., postmarked no later than Dec. 7.
