BG man pleads guilty after stand-off with police PDF Print E-mail

A former Perrysburg man pleaded guilty to two counts regarding his April 9 actions last year in a stand-off at Troy Villa trailer park on Truman Road, near Stony Ridge.
John B. Spencer, 43, now of Bowling Green, was indicted for felonious assault, criminal damaging or endangering, inducing panic, domestic violence and using weapons while intoxicated.
On Feb. 12, Spencer entered guilty pleas to inducing panic and domestic violence. The other charges are set to be dismissed at sentencing on April 30. Those dismissals were part of a plea agreement reached with the prosecution.
Judge Robert Pollex ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
Spencer was arrested after he surrendered to authorities following a two-hour standoff involving the Wood County Sheriff's office and the county's Special Response Team, .
The inducing panic charge is a fifth-degree felony. The domestic violence charge is a misdemeanor crime.
Since his arrest, the court has ordered he report to a Veteran's Administration treatment program in Michigan.
