Awareness Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech

NWO Apraxia Support is holding the Third Annual Family Fun Day Awareness Walk for Children
with Apraxia of SpeechThe fundraising event that will honor local children with apraxia of speech and
will include a one mile walk, pizza lunch, children’s activities, vendors, live and silent auctions, and
raffles. A special donation to the live auction was made by Thayer Ford for a one year lease on a brand
new 2014 Ford Focus.Children’s activities will include carnival games, face painting, balloon twisting,
crafts and entertainment by the Toledo Zoo, Wood County District Public Library children’s staff,
Natures Nursery, PBS Characters donated by WBGU, Ronald McDonald, and more.Mid-County Ambulance and
Bowling Green City Police and Fire vehicles will be available for viewing. The event will be Sept. 14.
Onsite check-in and registration will begin at 10 a.m.An Apraxia Superhero Medal presentation will be
held at 10:30.The walk begins at 11. A live auction begins at 1 p.m. Activities will be available from
10 a.m until 2 p.m. at Bowling Green City Park, near the Kiwanis Shelter and Needle Hall.NWO Apraxia
Support is a regional non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to supporting families impacted by
and raising awareness about Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), as well as providing grants to fund
supplemental therapies, treatments, activities, or equipment that will enhance the lives of individual
children of CAS. All funds raised from the 2013 Family Fun Day Awareness Walk auctions, raffles and
carnival events goes to NWO Apraxia Support to provide grants for local children with apraxia of
