Autism Awareness Bittersweet Farms’ April focus with emphasis on its agriculture effort

0

During April, Bittersweet Farms will be promoting autism awareness and the services Bittersweet provides
for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders through various ways.
Bittersweet Farms is asking the community to get involved and advocate for Autism Awareness Month by
sharing Bittersweet Farms’ social media sites, participating in the Bittersweet Farms Facebook giveaway
and encouraging people to use person first language. The community may also advocate for autism by
supporting employment of people with autism through purchasing Bittersweet’s pesto and purchasing a
membership to the Community Supported Agriculture program. Bittersweet’s pesto is available at
Bittersweet Farms in Whitehouse, The Baker’s Kitchen in Perrysburg and Monclova, and Walt Churchill’s
Market in Maumee.
Bittersweet Farms will be distributing marketing materials to various restaurants around the community
that will promote autism awareness.
The community is encouraged to advocate for autism by donating or volunteering at Bittersweet Farms.
Volunteers will be assigned tasks such as cleaning the barn, weeding, clearing trails, helping with
administrative tasks, aiding in the culinary department, mending and helping with art clean-up.
Those interested in volunteering can contact Shannon Dane for an application and handbook; 419 875 6986,
