PERRYSBURG - A young bicyclist was injured when a vehicle struck him while riding near downtown Friday.
Perrysburg Police report that just after 2:45 p.m. Dominick Ward, 10, Perrysburg, was eastbound on a sidewalk along Indiana Avenue at Louisiana Avenue when his brakes failed as he attempted to stop at the intersection.
An eastbound vehicle driven by Angela Carlozzi, Perrysburg, turning right onto Louisiana Avenue on a  green light, then collided with the bicycle.
Ward, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained non-incapacitating injuries but was not taken to a hospital.
This is the second car versus bicycle incident in the city recently. A teenaged bicyclist was struck by a car Thursday at East Second Street and Locust Street. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
