The annual "Bowling for Kids Sake" fundraiser will be held Feb. 22 at Al-Mar Lanes.
The event raises money for the local office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio. There are
three "waves" of bowlers. Openings still remain at 11 a.m., as well as both 1:30 and 4 p.m.

Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn will emcee at 11; county prosecutor Paul Dobson, will perform those
duties at 2 p.m. The final spot is to be determined.
Local food establishments will be furnishing free food and there will be numerous prizes given to the
bowlers.
Each adult bowler is expected to make a minimum donation of $30, while college students and younger
bowlers are asked to donate a minimum of $25.
Each wave will feature a 50/50 raffle and as in past years, a raffle for a nice item.
A new "twist" this year is a prize each wave for the best dressed person depicting George
Washington’s birthday.
Every bowler that raises $100 or more will be entered in a drawing for a "suite basket for a
romantic overnight stay and a gift certificate toward dinner."
Drawing to be held at end of the day.
For every $100 raised by each bowler, their name also will be entered into an agency drawing for a Kindle
fire HD and Nook Package. This drawing will take place in May. Winners will be advised by phone.
All proceeds will help Big Brothers Big Sisters to serve more children in Wood County who want and need a
mentor in their life. In addition to funds, the organization is also seeking more volunteers to mentor
the youth being served.
