Bowling Green's Planning Commission Wednesday night recommended to city council an annexation and an addition to site plan requirements.
The annexation is for property at 16381 Brim Road that will allow the homeowner to tap into the city water line. The commission also recommended the property be given interim zoning of R-2, single-family residential.
Planning Director Heather Sayler told the commission the addition to the site plan requirements will clear up a long-standing oversight. She explained that there has never been a requirement to show where electrical service enters a project, even though other utilities such as gas and communications are required. "This cleans up something that should have been done a long time ago."
The commission also approved a long list of public construction projects ranging from water and sewer line replacements to street paving. Some of the projects have been bid and others will be bid if funding is available.
A public hearing was set for the July meeting on a request to vacate Owens Avenue in the area of West Poe Road and Dill Street. The meeting has tentatively been set for July 10 at 6 p.m.
The regular meeting date would have fallen on July 3. The change is being made due to the Independence Day holiday on July 4.
