PERRYSBURG - Radio host Andrew Z was struck by a vehicle and injured while riding a bicycle in the city last week.
According to the crash report, at 2:06 p.m. on Aug. 21, Andrew Z, whose real name is Andrew Zepeda, Perrysburg, was traveling east on the bikepath and sidewalk area along West Indiana Avenue against traffic when he reportedly rode between two stopped vehicles which were facing south, across the crosswalk at North Ridge Drive.
At that time, a 1992 Ford Club Wagon driven by Kevin Sekel, Toledo, turned northbound onto North Ridge from West Indiana, and did not see Zepeda.
The front of the bike and the vehicle collided.
Zepeda, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, by Perrysburg EMS with non-incapacitating injuries.
According to a press release on the incident from Gabella Media, Zepeda was treated for a broken leg, as well as hand, arm, and jaw injuries.
Zepeda is the host of the "Andrew Z in the Morning" show on Toledo's App Station.
