LIME CITY - A search warrant was executed at a mobile home park on Tracy Road Tuesday as part of a statewide child pornography sweep.
The warrant, served by agents of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Crimes Against Children division, with the assistance of the Perrysburg Township Police Department, was in conjunction with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's "Operation Download" initiative.
The residence is located in the Friendly Village Mobile Home Park, in the 27000 block of Tracy Road. It is situated in Perrysburg Township but has a Walbridge address. The resident of the trailer was questioned, but not arrested.
Jill Del Greco, a spokesperson for the Attorney General's Office, did not know what, if anything, was seized from the premises, but said investigators were looking for computers and other media devices where images could be stored. She did say they expect charges may be filed at a later date.
Additional warrants were served in Hamden and Mentor as part of the operation. One person was arrested as a result of those efforts.
According to a press release, each of the locations had been identified as a site where child pornography was illegally possessed and downloaded. The individual cases were not related.
"Downloading and sharing child pornography is not a victimless crime," said DeWine in the release. "The children in the photographs are victimized each time someone views an image. These predators need to know that we are aggressively coming after them."
