PERRYSBURG - One person was injured in a crash on Interstate 75 a quarter-mile north of Ohio 199 Thursday evening.
Perrysburg Police report that at 6:25 p.m. Jakeb Knight, Perrysburg, was driving southbound on I-75 when he failed to slow for a vehicle driven by Eric Holt, Perrysburg, which was driving ahead of him.
Knight's vehicle struck Holt's in the rear.
Knight reported possible injuries in the crash and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital by Perrysburg Township EMS.
He was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
A second, non-injury accident was also reported just five minutes later on I-75 near the U.S. 20 interchange.
At that time, Marcus Langenderfer, Maumee, was southbound on I-75 behind Jason Grefke, Monice, Mich., when he failed to slow for traffic and struck Grefke's vehicle from behind.
Langenderfer was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
A third accident, which preceded the other two, was also reported, but details on that crash were not available this morning.
I-75 was visibly backed up for some distance by at least 5:45 p.m.
