A look back at BG weather

Fifty-four years ago Bowling Green was in the midst of a January thaw with temperatures more typical of
late April or May.
Records highs of 64, 72, and 69 degrees remain on the books for Jan. 24. 25 and 26 in 1950.
At the other extreme, BG’s record lows for Jan. 25 and Jan. 26, 1897, were minus 20 and minus 18 degrees,
respectively.
