VAN BUREN – Six Bloomdale-area residents were injured in a crash in Hancock County on Saturday, east of
the village.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 11:27 a.m. Jerica Henry, 19, driving a 1995 Toyota
Camry four-door, was southbound on Township Road 229, north of Ohio 613, when she failed to maintain
control as it drifted off the right side of the road.
Henry reportedly over-steered back to the left, went off the left side of the road, and then down a deep
drainage ditch. The vehicle then struck an embankment.
There were five passengers in the vehicle: Deanne Thomas, 47; Max Thomas, 8; Kaylee Thomas, 7; Jaurie
Henry, 14; and Jobe Henry, 11. All occupants were family members from the Bloomdale area.
All six were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, by Hanco EMS. Max Thomas and Jobe Henry were
subsequently taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, by air ambulance. They were listed in
stable condition this morning.
The crash remains under investigation.
