NORTHWOOD – The death of a woman in the city more than 30 years ago is now being investigated as a
homicide.
Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson indicated that the body of Dana Rosendale, who died in September,
1982, was exhumed in October and taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for examination in the case.

As a result, the incident is now being ruled a homicide.
Dobson said the matter is a cold case that Northwood Police have been investigating for some time.
Initial reports in the case, he said, were that Rosendale had fallen out of a car on Tracy Road, and that
a man she was with called to get her treatment.
Dobson said the thinking now is that Rosendale did not die by falling from the car.
“Northwood Police Department and officers, investigators have been doing what they can to find out are
there any other witnesses, going back and speaking to people to knew her” and the man in the vehicle.

“At this point everybody’s a suspect, because we’re trying to figure our what happened,” said Dobson, who
added “we’re not focusing our investigation on any one individual. What we’re trying to get out is what
happened.”
He did state that the man who was with Rosendale at the time, as well as a few other individuals, are “of
interest.”
Dobson asked that anyone with information should contact Northwood Police.
