FINDLAY - A Women in Philanthropy event will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 on the University of Findlay campus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Winebrenner Theological Seminary. Women and men of all ages are welcome.
The event, hosted jointly by the presidents of Bowling Green State University, Otterbein University and the University of Findlay, is the first of three Women in Philanthropy programs planned over the course of three years.
General admission is $25. University students may attend at no cost if they register in advance. Faculty and staff members from any of the three host institutions may attend for $15. Lunch is included.

Betty Montgomery of Wood County, former attorney general for the state of Ohio, will offer the keynote address, "Women in Philanthropy: Making a Difference," at 11 a.m.
The day will also include a panel discussion with Anne Pramaggiore, moderator, president and CEO of ComEd; and panelists Jaclyn Schalk, assistant director of gift planning and director of development at BGSU; Marcia Sloan Latta, Findlay's vice president for university advancement; and Otterbein's Nadine Block, founder of the Center for Effective Discipline.
Focus group topics in the afternoon will be Getting Started in Philanthropy: Following Your Passion; Making a Difference: Using Your Time, Talent and Treasure for the Greater Good; and Leaving a Legacy: Planning for Future Generations.
The Women in Philanthropy event will be hosted at Otterbein in 2015 and at BGSU in 2016.
