PEMBERVILLE - The 77th John and Eliza Sieving reunion was held Sunday at Riverview Banquet Hall, with 88 people present. They came from as far as Iowa and Florida.
Ken Sieving welcomed everyone and Ruth Dauer led the prayer. A potluck dinner followed.
Reunion hosts were the Harmon Sieving descendants.
Ken Sieving gave updates regarding his family. He and Alice celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and Mud Hens game in May. His sister Laverne, who lives in California, sent a letter with her family's news. Ruth Dauer, another sister, celebrated her 90th birthday at a party last October. The group sang a belated "Happy Birthday" to her.
Lois and Lloyd Hill will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in November.
Marriages since last year's reunion were Jackie Goebel to Jacob Clemens, June 15, and Heidi Bench to Derek Meyer, July 6. New babies welcomed: Landon to Lucas and Kelsey Goebel, and Olivia to Andrew and Molly Witker. Several others reported plans for weddings and new additions in the coming year.
Group pictures were taken.
Next year's reunion will be held the third Sunday in August at Riverview, with the descendants of the Carl and Henry Sieving families as hosts.
