PORTAGE - Sarah Herringshaw and Michael Brooks were united in marriage Dec. 29 at Christ United Methodist Church.
Pastor Bruce McDaniel conducted the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Paul and Doris Herringshaw, Bowling Green. The groom is the son of Richard and Elaine Brooks, Union City.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown with a fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline and ruched organza. The skirt was richly embellished throughout with embroidery and Swarovski crystals.
Bridesmaids were Brittanee Colston and Keisha Larimore, both of Bowling Green; Carmen Kennel, Botkins; and Beth Brooks, Union City. They wore slate gray floor-length taffeta gowns with an A-line silhouette and halter straps.
Matt Kirgan, Union City, served as best man.    
Groomsmen were Brian Herringshaw, Bowling Green; Joshua Schmitz, Maria Stein; and Ryan Edwards, Union City.
Musicians were organist Kathy Bame and Kevin Rahrig. Carla and Annalesa Rahrig were vocalists.
A reception was held at the Holiday Inn French Quarter, Perrysburg.               
The newlyweds honeymooned on St. Maarten and are now at home in Maple Grove, Minn.
The bride graduated from Bowling Green High School in 2003. She earned a bachelor's degree in food science in 2007 and a Master of Food Science in 2009, both from Ohio State University. She is employed as a food scientist for General Mills.
The groom graduated from Mississinawa Valley High School in 2003 and from OSU in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in agri-business. He is currently employed by Crop Production Services.
