Jerry McNamee's meat pasties is the last winner in Bowling Green's 2013 Farm Fresh Recipe Contest series, and will be sampled on Wednesday at the final Downtown Farmers' Market for this year.
The market, located at 201 S. Main St., is open Wednesdays from 4-7 p.m.  Members of the public are invited to enjoy a taste of the recipe, and weigh in with their opinion of it while enjoying music from Steel Wind, a rock foursome specializing in music of the '70s and '80s.
Look for a Cook's Corner column about McNamee and the pasties recipe in next Tuesday's Sentinel-Tribune.
Immediately after Wednesday's Farmers Market, The Stones Throw Tavern & Grill is hosting a fundraising event for the downtown holiday decorations. The Stones Throw will donate 20 percent of purchases made with the donation coupon to the holiday lights fund.  The coupon is available at the Downtown BG booth at the Farmers Market and on the Downtown Bowling Green facebook page.
The Downtown Farmers' Market is made possible by support from Huntington Bank, Mid-Wood, Inc., Newlove Realty, Sealion Studio, the Wood County Farm Bureau, Bowling Green Kiwanis, Bowling Green State University, The Copy Shop and the Ohio Farmers' Union.
The Sentinel-Tribune, Heritage Corner Health Care Campus, Calico Sage & Thyme, BGSU's Departments of Family and Consumer Sciences and Recreation and Wellness, and Wood County Hospital partnered with Downtown Bowling Green on this first year of the Farm Fresh Recipe Contest.
