Bowling Green's annual Walk for Life will take place at a new location this year.
The walk, slated for Sept. 21, will step off from St. Thomas More Church, 425 Thurstin Ave.
The Bowling Green Pregnancy Center invites members of the community to join them for the 2013 walk.
It is one of two major fundraisers during the year for the center. The walk allows the center to operate without government or state assistance while offering all services at no cost to women in Wood County.  "The Walk for Life allows all of us to come together, have a great time, and raise money that ultimately acts to transform fear into hope for women and men in our community," said Mike Manahan, president of the BG Pregnancy Center Board of Directors.
The pregnancy center has been serving Bowling Green since 1985.  By offering free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, and free advocacy and support, the center has had an impact on over 7,000 women since opening, notes Laurie Taylor, walk leader.
"My mom took me to the Pregnancy Center. After I went for the first time, I was glad I did," said a local high school student. "They explained that I was not going to be alone, and that my baby and I were truly loved."
Registration for the 2013 Walk for Life begins at 8:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More. The walk starts at 9.
Community members may also register online at www.supportbgpregnancycenter.org by clicking on the BG Pregnancy Center logo.  For more information call Taylor  at 517-354-4673.  Walkers who raise $200 will receive a custom T-shirt; however, walkers do not have to collect money.
There are both one- and two-mile walk options to suit any fitness level.
