PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP - Area residents searching for, or interested in selling, children's-specific items are invited to visit Owens Community College as the Raising Awareness Club (RAC) presents its first-ever Mom2Mom Sale on Saturday, June 2. The sale will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Student Health and Activities Center on the Oregon Road campus. The day-long event is open to the public. The event is meant to "benefit individuals in our communities who may have a limited budget," said Nicole Lance, Owens student activities assistant and RAC advisor. "I encourage individuals to lend a helping hand by making available for purchase children's items that may be going unused and could be put to good use by parents with younger children." Sale attendees can select from a variety of children's-specific items being sold by community venders in a "garage sale" format. Items available for purchase will include gently-used clothing, toys, strollers and high chairs, among other merchandise. Proceeds will benefit a one-year-old boy from Minnesota who is in need of a liver transplant. Comprised of Owens students, employees and alumni, theĀ Raising Awareness Club group is committed to advocating for the acceptance of cultural differences, global unity, disability awareness and various needs that impact the surrounding communities. The cost to reserve a merchandise table is $10 and interested vendors must register by next Tuesday. Sale admission is $1. For more information about the event, or to register, call (567) 661-2994 or 1-800-GO- OWENS, Ext. 2994. |
