Bowling Green Women’s Club
The Women’s Club of Bowling Green met on April 2 at the Heritage Georgian Room.
President Evelyn Bachman opened the meeting and Edie Olds gave the inspiration.
Lucy Long, executive director of the Center for Food and Culture, gave a talk on "Nourishing
Connections To Food, Through Food" and the implications these connections have for our communities,
environment, and quality of life.
Meeting hostesses were Earlene Kilpatrick, Linda Hamilton, chairmen Pat McGinnis, Martha Moon and Bonnie
Stearns.
Jean Lanning was crowned Recycling Queen.
The next meeting will be a May 3 breakfast at 9:30 a.m. at the Heritage Georgian Room.

Troy-Webster Legion Auxiliary
LUCKEY – President Betty Briggs opened the April 2 unit meeting at 9:30 a.m. with 13 members present.
Chaplain Rosemarie Heilman led the group in prayer.
Buckeye Girls State Chairman Kate Shaffer has the unit sending five girls this year.
Becky Dippman sent in both the Children & Youth and the Junior Activities reports.
Veterans Affairs Chairman Ruth Peters thanked Joel and Shirley Davis for serving coffee at the VA Clinic.

Legislative chairperson Shirley Rothenbuhler sent in her report.
Membership: Ruth Peters reported the unit is at 91.608 percent goal and she has one more to send in.
Past Presidents: Dippman reported the poppy potluck and workshop was a success and thanked all who
helped.
Poppy Day is May 17. Sign-up sheet to help will be at the May 7 meeting. Members voted to place a poppy
in the newsletter this year.
Correspondence was read and cards were passed for members Irma Meyer and Ellen Bechstein.
Members stayed after the meeting and enjoyed finger foods while repairing the tags on the poppies to be
offered in May. Ruth Peters was hostess.
