Perrysburg Commons to host Route 20 Chili Cook-off
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg Commons, along with Perrysburg High School’s DECA class, will be hosting a Route
20 Chili Cook-off on Friday at 2 p.m.
The event will be held at Perrysburg Commons Retirement Center, at 10542 Fremont Pike.
Many businesses on U.S. 20 in Perrysburg and Rossford will be entering their signature chili in hopes of
winning the title of "Best Chili on Route 20". Participants will include Tim Horton’s,
Ralphies, Wendy’s, The Oasis, Bob Evans, Frisch’s Big Boy, Perrysburg Commons, and Perrysburg Township
Fire Dept, and more.
Celebrity judges for the event are Judge Molly Mack of the Perrysburg Municipal Court; J.D. Justus,
retired Perrysburg Police sergeant; Tom Brice, Perrysburg Township fire chief; Don Wott, Perrysburg
Kiwanis president; and Judy Jones, Perrysburg Commons’ Resident Council president.
Senior Gathering meal set
WAYNE – The monthly Senior Gathering meal will be held at noon Thursday at Mt. Zion United Brethren
Church at the corner of Bays and Reynolds roads.
The free meal is open to all area seniors and their friends. Entertainment will be provided by John and
Edna Amstutz.
Changed Life women’s seminar March 15
TOLEDO – The 34th annual Changed Life Seminar for area women will be held March 15. The 2014 topic is
"The Fitting Room: What Are You Wearing?"
The day long, non-denominational seminar, featuring guest speaker Kelly Minter of Nashville, will be held
at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Road.
Minter is an author, musician and teacher. She has authored a number of Bible studies, including "No
Other Gods: Confronting Our Modern Day Idols," "Ruth: Loss, Love and Legacy" and
"Nehemiah: A Heart That Can Break."
The day’s program begins with registration, coffee, tea and muffins at 8:15and a morning session at 9,
followed by lunch break from noon to 1 and afternoon session from 1 to 2:45 p.m.
The registration fee is $25, with checks payable to Changed Life Seminar. Registrations must be received
by March 7, after which the fee increases to $30. Send check plus name, address and phone, to Judy
Dashner, 1135 Borg Ave., Temperance, Mich. 48182. Specify choice of lunch entree: chicken salad or
turkey croissant, veggie wrap, or salad with chicken and raspberry vinaigrette.

Singles dance Friday
HOLLAND – Glass City Singles will host a dance party Friday from 8 p.m. until midnight at Holland
Gardens, 6530 Angola Road.
It is open to area adult singles. Admission is $8. Men wearing a tie receive a $1 discount until 8:30.
